JOE VEACH

“Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much.” And this is the absolute truth. I reached my heaviest weight in 2017 at 401 lbs. I felt worthless, helpless, depressed, and like I had no purpose in life but to just take up space. I was constantly in pain, from my back, my knees, occasional chest pains, just so much as a mental state of mind pain. I thought I was going nowhere in life, or what I called life. Then I joined a gym, started a diet, and made it a point to be better. January 2, 2018 I took my life back. I made healthy decisions, food and physical. I had a small group of friends that would go with me and show me some stuff when they were able to. Mostly it was up to me and I did what I thought I knew. At the beginning of March 2018, is when I joined Chris Autry’s group training sessions. This is the day my life changed. I found a place of peace with a sense of belonging, a family atmosphere like no other, and a group of individuals with a common goal to simply be better. I genuinely believe that if it weren’t for group training I would not be where I am today. These people wanted what I did, more out of life. They helped me feel welcomed, like I belonged there. The people in those groups will go with me through the rest of my life, because they weren’t just people I workout with, they are my #fitfam. They would push me to excel in everything. They would congratulate me on successes and hold me accountable when I would slack. They were my people, my tribe, my friends, but more importantly my Fit Family! Through the ups and downs I would have personally, this group atmosphere provided a place of encouragement that gave me strength. Proudly I was able to successfully accomplish all of my small goals.  However, more importantly the most rewarding moment in my life came to fruition; I gained confidence in myself, was introduced to my sense of self-worth, witnessed myself give my full potential, learned to love me, and lost half of my bodyweight! I went from 401 pounds to 201 pounds! I have no one else to thank but Chris Autry and my new Fit Family! I am no special person able to move mountains with the snap of my fingers. I was just an individual with a goal and the help of my team to achieve great things! “Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence win championships.”
